Living With Allergy

Families where one or more children is allergic, particularly if the allergy is severe or if there are multiple allergies, can find day to day life challenging. Shopping for food can take longer and be more expensive. Planning meals and cooking can get complicated. You have to deal with nursery or school.

For many families, there is also the constant fear of an unexpected allergic reaction. Some choose never to eat outgo to parties, or go abroad on holiday. The general public, and health services, often underestimate the effects of allergy on families.

Children’s Health Scotland publicise books for children around living with allergies, that you may find useful. These are listed within their extensive resource library. Please see here.
